Dear Mr. Barber,
Thank you for your interest in Dynatek ignitions. The use of the VOES is optional with the Dyna 2000i. You have the option of permanently grounding the purple VOES wire and the 2000i will then follow the more rapid , solid line part of the advance curve shown in the installation guide with all curves reaching full advance by 1500 RPM or you may leave it disconnected in which case the 2000i will follow the more gradual dotted line curve all of the time.
