Thank you for your interest in Dynatek ignitions. Yes, the DS6-1 will work on your 2003 Sportster but you will need to change the coil to a 5 ohm and add a mechanical advance unit as well. For these reasons we usually recommend the Dyna 2000i for these late model applications. The 2000i will work with the OEM rotating cup and OEM coil in dual fire mode so it actually comes up a little less expensive and has more features too.
