Hello Chance,
Yes you will need the Power Commander V and other parts or the Stand Alone Quick Shifter Module to control the Quick Shifter, Below are two options for you to add the Dynojet Quick Shifter on your 2005 CBR1000RR.
NOTE: The Shift Rods we recommend was measured for the Factory Shift Rods, if you have aftermarket Shift Rods/Rearsets please contact us to confirm and revise your parts list.
Option #1:
Keep your existing Bazzaz Z-Fi Module for tuning purposes and install the Dynojet Stand Alone Quick Shifter Module with the rest of the Quick Shifter Parts. Links Below for all parts needed.
SKU: 4-139 Quick Shifter Stand Alone Module: https://www.dynojet.com/motorcycle/qu...
SKU: 4-130 Quick Shifter Sensor: https://www.dynojet.com/quick-shifter...
SKU: 32104060 Shift Rod A: https://www.dynojet.com/quick-shifter...
OR
Option #2:
Replace your Bazzaz Z-Fi to the Power Commander V to tune your bike and the rest of the Quick Shifter parts. Links below.
First, because your bike is an 8 injector bike and due the the PCV only controlling the primary injectors. You will need to add an addition module to your system besides a PCV and QS Sensor to activate the shift interrupt, this will control secondary injectors or timing for the Quick Shifter to work correctly. This can be done is 1 of 4 ways. Links and information below.
1* Add a Quickshifter Expansion Module. This unit attaches to the upper injectors and will interrupt fuel delivery from the upper injectors when the shifter is activated. This unit does nothing else. SKU: QEM-10 Quick Shifter Expansion Module: https://www.dynojet.com/quick-shifter...
2* Add a Secondary Fuel Module. This unit attaches to the upper injectors and will interrupt them when the shifter is activated, but will also give you full control of the upper injectors for tuning if desired. SKU: SFM-1 Secondary Fuel Module: https://www.dynojet.com/power-command...
3* Add an Ignition Module. This unit allows full control of your timing by driving the coils directly. It will also allow the shift to happen by interrupting the spark. SKU: 6-88 Ignition Module: https://www.dynojet.com/ign2-04-07-ho...
4* Install a Stand Alone Ignition Shifter. This module does not need a PCV in order to function. It is a separate module that connects directly to the coils and the shift sensor, and will allow a shift interrupt event by interrupting spark. SKU: 4-139 Quick Shifter Stand Alone Module: https://www.dynojet.com/motorcycle/qu...
Once you selected an additional Module, below are the rest of the parts needed.
SKU: 16-022 Power Commander V: https://www.dynojet.com/power-command...
SKU: 4-130 Quick Shifter Sensor: https://www.dynojet.com/quick-shifter...
SKU: 32104060 Shift Rod A: https://www.dynojet.com/quick-shifter...
