Hello John,
Thank you for your interest in the PV3. These units come with all the available tunes we have created, and once the PV3 is married to a vehicle it will only list the tunes that work with your vehicle. Our device is designed so that you cannot send an incorrect tune to the ECU. To do this, we look at the ECU tune compatibility and checksum. Manufacturers can have many revisions in their ECUs and each time they do this, these values can change. We see lots of different variations.
We do label what model years and accessories when creating a tune, but in many aspects they work for multiple model years. This is a tuning device so you also have the ability to get a custom tune with a Tuning facility, work with the Technical Support team to make alterations to an existing tune, or use a Wide Band accessory to adjust the AFR while you ride.
